  • Complaint Dept. - Update

1.) Remember back in November, when I told you about writing to the Veteran's Administration. I suggested to them that the certificates of honor, thanking the soldiers for their service, might be even more appreciated by the soldiers themselves. As it stands, they send them to a deceased soldier's family. Last week, I got another certificate in the mail. No response....just another beautiful certificate. I think they 'misconscrewed' . They are busy.

2.) Then there was the birth control commercial that I took to task for undue tackiness. They claimed "it's the most advanced piece of technology you will ever pee on." Clever ? Perhaps...but a little high on the tacky meter. I saw it again yesterday, and, lo and behold, they cleaned it up. Now it claims "it's the most advanced piece of technology you'll ever... ahem, - you know". I was amazed. I guess that I wasn't the only griper.

So, there you have it - you win some, you lose some - sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

But, it's certainly worth speaking your mind. Ta

  • i believe the technical term is "tackimeter" tak IMi ter

kind and thoughtful? me? even a chance? speak for yourself, lady. :P

  • So the official total would be 1 to 1.  What will be the tie breaker?

  • ryc on the new shack: thanks for that.

i kind of like you. though i don't know why.

  • I'm so glad they cleaned that one up some. I hate that ad!  I don't think I should have to watch ads for viagra or adult diapers either lol... Some things should just be private right?

  • a) It's always right to speak your mind. What they gonna do? Say NO? You've heard it before and it never causes physical pain.

    b) So now write your congressman and senator. Tell them you've contacted the VA with no results. And if you want backup, forward a petition to the folks here on Xanga and friends....I know you'll have my support, which includes the local chapter of the American Legion and AmVets, not to mention the Navy Vets at Together We Served. GO FOR IT!

  • You just put a smile on my face by the saying-sometimes your the windshield and sometimes your the bug!! I like that!!! I think I need some new shoes!

We were talking at work today about how bad Harrisburg has gotten. And they told me of a civil war museum in Harrisburg that hardly anyone goes to because they put it between two of the worst sections of Harrisburg.Places that shootings happen alot and there are gangs. Now what is with that? Thought that bit of info would interest you.The farm show that I went to yesterday was in Harrisburg and I just couldn't believe some of the streets my son had me on and that wasn't event the bad section. I'm wondering-how can we clean up Iraq if we can't even clean up our own country?

  • i'm glad someone writes in on things that need to be changed. you go, girl. we need more you YOU.  :)

ryc: i'm glad you liked the edit. i've had it on a word document, and have it set up to remind myself to stay on task this semester, and some other things that NEED to get done. quitting smoking is another. i don't want to talk about that one, so why am i talking about it. lol

chinaberries. i remember there was a chinaberry tree in my aunt's yard next door when i was growing up. my cousins in the neighborhood (there were about 25 of us first cousins in the same neighborhood) would gather and play. we'd have chinaberry wars in natchez. conner, one of my cousins, would teach us how to make ...slingshots (is the nice word, but not the word used in mississippi); then we'd fire those chinaberries at each other. :)

    fun times.

  • Here's a link about the London Eye, it's a huge ferris wheel on the south bank of the Thames near Westminster, we went on it last year and I recommend it as an experience, the views across London are wonderful. The donut was rather disappointing which was a shame, maybe Reg's was better but I didn't ask and he's asleep now.

Well done on a result from your complaint!

  • ryc:  Thank you.  Thank you.  (Bowing and Blowing Kisses!)

  • hey you. yes the Pats won their game, of course. but the ny giants beat us. and i was thinking i was over it, heh, but now i'm getting upset again. you should have heard all the complaints on the evening news. sheesh.

  • ryc: yep. that i am. and you love it. ;)

  • must be heaps of people like you around, i see comercials on tv sometimes and think "what is this"? then a couple of days later its the same one but different in some way, i dont really mind the terminoligy so much as being totally insulted.by basic rudeness.

  • This, from the woman who has on more than one occasion declared that she has "peed her pants" after a long hot sweaty car trip....?

    ( i bet you're mad at me now, aren'tcha? )

  • ryc: you're right. aaron does need a job. A BLOW JOB. i'd help, but...maybe you'd be better qualified? :P

  • ryc: wait..."those were the days"? to which comment do you refer, my dear?

  • i know you are, but what am i?
